Instructions:

When you are ready to record a memory by phone, click the "Call the Memory Line" button below. A new window will open explaining how to record your message. You will also be invited to share some brief written thoughts and a digital image of yourself if you have one.

You must be age 13 or older to record your Subway Memories. To begin using the "Subway Memory Line" from your telephone, click the button below. The system refers to your memories as "testimonials", since you are offering a first-hand account of a memory you have relating to the New York City subway.

In step 2, when prompted to call our "Subway Memory Line", please record a brief message telling us about a New York City subway-related memory. Please start your message by stating:

  • your first name (and last if you wish)
  • your year and city of birth

... then proceed to tell us your memory or story. Please try to keep recordings under 3 minutes. Click the button below to begin:

NOTE: By recording a message and/or submitting a photo, you are granting the New York Transit Museum the right to use your message/photo on the Museum web site and in any promotional activities associated with this project. You will not receive renumeration of any kind for recording your message.
