| The
Department of Buses accomplishes its day-to-day delivery of bus
service with the help
of a series of bus depots located throughout the five boroughs.
These depots are the workplace for about 90 percent of the department's
workforce. Many of the depots were built a century ago. Some were
constructed as trolley barns, piers and warehouses. At the depots,
the buses are washed, stored, refueled and routinely maintained.
Each depot has its own logo which becomes a particular source of
pride for employees. |
